Croatia has thousands of miles of coastline along the Adriatic Sea.  In addition, it has over 1,100 islands of varying sizes forming a chain running northwest to southeast.   Quaint coastal renaissance towns steeped in history are situated all along the coastline.  Secluded beaches and anchorages, deep channels, protected waters, all these add up to make Croatia a hot cruising destination.  In fact, Croatia was named by National Geographic Adventure Magazine as the Destination of the Year 2006.  In the year 2005, Croatia attracted over 10 million visitors.    Furthermore, Croatia was named by underwater legend Jacques Costeau as having the cleanest body of water.

Sailing season in Croatia runs from April to the end of October.  July and August are really busy months.  If you want to escape from the crowd, it is best to avoid July and August.  Easily accessible, Croatia is only 2 hours away by plane from London.  It is the closest Mediterranean destination from Central Europe.
