Based in Ontario, Canada, PDQ Yachts was founded in 1987 by Simon Slater, Alan Slater and Dr. Harvey Griggs. The first PDQ was a 34' sailing catamaran. In 1994, PDQ started building power catamarans in addition to their sailing catamarans. Due to changing economic conditions, the devaluation of the US dollars, subprime crisis, and the rising fuel costs in 2007, PDQ shut its doors in November 2007. In 2008, Pearson Composites of Rhode Island, exclusive builders of the Lagoon catamarns acquired the molds and toolings of PDQ yachts and the first Pearson built PDQ yachts is expected to be launched in August of 2008.

Passport Yachts was founded in 1979 by Thom Wagner who commissioned Robert Perry for performance sailing cruisers to be built in Taiwan. There are over 350 Passport yachts built. Today, Wagner Stevens Yachts is the marketing name under which Passport Yachts operates and is principally engaged in the manufacturing, importation and retail sales of their own exclusive yacht designs. The corporation, along with all of the production tooling, is privately owned and managed by Thomas Wagner, who has over thirty years of yacht building, interior layout design, racing and cruising experience. Based in Annapolis, Maryland Wagner Stevens Yachts also has offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Southampton, United Kingdom.

Najad Yachts of Sweden has been building sailboats since 1971, building its reputation on classic Scandinavian styling and quality construction. In recent years, Najad employed the services of Judel-Vrolijk & Co, a German design firm, to develop new hull designs that would give modern performance while providing a good balance between comfort, weight and speed. Jeantot Marine was founded in 1985 by Rene Bernard and Philip Jeantot who originated the Privilege line of luxury power catamarans. With its spacious interiors, luxury accommodations and ease of handling, the Privilege line became very popular as a charter boat especially in the Caribbeans. From 1985 to 1996, Jeantot Marine built an extensive network of dealers while continuing to build a multi-hull charter fleet. In 1996, the company was acquired by Alliaura Marine, subsidiary of La Groupe SGGR, which continued to develop the Privilege Line.

Island Pilot Yachts are built in Her Shine Marine in their Zhuhai factory in China. Island Pilot Yachts is the marketing company and distributor of these boats. There are currently two models of trawlers for the cruising market, the Island Pilot 435 and the Island Pilot 495. It is currently developing a new and larger boat named the Island Pilot 555.
